The correlation between anxiety, depression, and vertigo: a cross-sectional study

Abstract Background Dizziness, including vertigo, affects approximately 15% to over 20% of adults each year. A significant proportion patients with vertigo develop secondary psychiatric disorders throughout their disease . On the other hand, frequently report dizziness as a co-occurring symptom illness. The purpose this study was screen prevalence depression and anxiety indices in dizzy relation severity handicap by administering two different questionnaires: inventory (DHI) Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale (HADS). Results Psychological assessments revealed that 49% group normal, 29% had anxiety, 7% depression, both depression. Besides, vestibular neuritis associated higher mean score, whereas Meniere's score. Conclusion As has shown, there statistically positive correlation between scores physical, emotional, functional, total DHI scores. Screening treatment co-morbid mental health are critical for appropriate management disability leads quality life fewer complications.
